Manx GP, Isle of Man, The world’s premier classic road races take place on the famous TT mountain course. Practice starts Saturday 21st with race week from Monday 30 August to Friday 3 September. Ryan Farquhar, Michael Dunlop and Guy Martin are among the confirmed riders. A true spectators event: if you couldn’t get to this year’s TT, the Manx is a must. The Num Bum Run charity motorbike ride: please come and join us on your bike along part of the route to support Corporal Andy Reid, a keen biker, who lost both legs together with his right arm in an explosion in Sangin, Afghanistan, in October 2009. Andy will be riding a specially designed Boom Trike, covering 940 miles over five days, from Land’s Ends to John o’ Groats, in aid of Help for Heroes. The VMCC IoM are running their International week of events starting on Saturday 28 August. On Sunday 29 the hugely successful ‘Festival of Jurby Race Circuit’ will be held on the Island. Guest of honour is Sammy Miller who will be taking over two very special Italian bikes to go with the Italian theme: the 1957 4 cylinder Gilera and the 1950 500cc Bicilindrica Moto Guzzi which has been specially brought over from the Antonio Frigerio collection in Italy. This will probably be the first time a Bicilindrica has been back in the Isle of Man since 1948 when the great Bob Foster raced it. For more info, go to www.vmcc.net

Medway MAG Custom Show.  Second year of the Custom Bike Show, raising money for Kent Air Ambulance, from noon till late. Local rock band, rock disco, raffle, trade stands, bar/teas, BBQ, all day bar. Saturday 28 – Sunday 29
South West Motorcycle Show, Westpoint Centre, Exeter. This long-established event attracts thousands of biking enthusiasts every year, but this year sees the addition of a competition for stunt riders aiming to take a slice of the £7000 in prize money on offer. Extreme motorcycle stunt riders from across Europe and the UK are expected to compete at the inaugural Vertical Trix European Stunt competition. Other features at this year’s show include the new performance car drifting demonstrations by Santa Pod Raceway, the Head2Head motorcycle wheelie machine challenge, classic and vintage British motorcycle display, streetfighter display and custom trike display as well as bargain bike gear in the usual trade and display area. Dawn to Dusk 24-hour off-road enduro race, Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Since starting back in 2002 the D2D has grown to become the UK’s premier motorcycle enduro, taking place on 4000 acres of reclaimed opencast mine. The race itself is a punishing circuit that includes blast holes, ferocious fire trails, rock-spattered hill climbs, slippery slate and energy sapping bogs, and there’s a 6, 12 or 24-hour race to choose from, in a variety of classes. T-Bird At Ace Café event: prizes for the ‘Best Ridden Cafe Racer’ and ‘Best Triumph Thunderbirds’ to include pre-unit, unit, and Hinckley built models. Following the successful release of the cafe's 70th anniversary CD ‘Bikes n' Leather – Rockin at the Ace!’ in 2008, and again working with Cherry Red Records, Ace Cafe London is celebrating this year’s 60th anniversary of the legendary Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle as well as the iconic Fords of the same name, with a tie-up to debut Cherry Red's new T-Bird label, specialising in the little heard early sounds of rock 'n' roll, ranging from The Rip Chords and The Hondells to Carl Perkins and Eddie Cochran. 49th Jumbo Run by Jumbo GB, voluntary motorcycle and 3-wheeled club working for children with disabilities. 21st Annual Great Potteries Motorcycle Petfood Calvacade: assembly of bikes at 11.30am for noon at Port Vale Football Club, Burslem, Stoke on Trent, Staffs. Thousands of riders took part last year, event held to raise money for local animal charities/pet sanctuaries. Live rock concert and party afterwards (£3 entry).
