WHAT MOTOR CYCLE MONTHLY IS ALL ABOUT...
Welcome to Motor Cycle Monthly – Britain’s only FREE national newspaper for bikers. Assuming we have not fallen victim to fire, flood or enemy action, you are one of a quarter-of-a-million motorcyclists reading this.*
You may be doing so at the BMF Show, the Ace Cafe, your favourite bike pub, club meet or rally. Just fingers crossed it’s not a soggy MCM you are clutching in the pouring rain! We are sure you will like our price but we also want you to love us for our good looks and sparkling personality.
We want to give you something to think about and a good laugh. We have got some great competition prizes lined up and we are confident that our WhatWhereWhen guide and Travellers’Checks will have you itching to get out there and make it happen.
We will be testing new models and keeping tabs on whatever nasties Whitehall and Brussels have planned. But most of all we will be bringing you real stories about real bikers. In the newspaper world these stories are called ‘human interest’. In the real world they are the things we talk about over a coffee or pint. Many start with the line: “You’ll never believe what happened to me the other day but…”
Read this month about bikers like Maria Mason, Dave Dodge Rogers, Kevin Wadsworth, Saf Lawson, Peter Walker and dozens of others and you will be asking your mates: “Did you see that Motor Cycle Monthly story about…?”
And when you are asked that same question make sure your answer is ‘yes’ this month, next month and every month. And if you have a story of your own, share it through these pages. We also want to know what you think of us – careful! – and how issue two can be better than issue one. If you are organising an event make sure the details are in the next Motor Cycle Monthly and if you want to know what you can do with your bike come to us for some interesting suggestions!
