AMONG the various new machines on display at the Motorcycle Live bike show recently, the new Suzuki Inazuma 250 could easily have been overlooked but it’s actually quite an important model for Suzuki. After all, the commuter class is one of the only segments to show any real growth at the moment, so economical bikes that are easy on the wallet rule the roost.

California dreamin'

14 December 2012.

THE coast road from Cannes to St Tropez is busy even in November, but it’s still a great place to be riding the new California – I’m enjoying cruising along in the sunshine on this latest stylish, luxurious and charismatic Moto Guzzi. Civil engineering

20 November 2012.

'BIGGER is better’ is a familiar American phrase, applied to everything from V8 engines and skyscrapers to the delights of cosmetic surgery. Perhaps that’s partly why Kawasaki chose California to launch the latest version of its ZX-6R, a bike whose enlarged 636cc capacity mirrors that of the racy B1 model that began the firm’s revival a decade ago.

What do you think of the new breed of cheaper, more economical bikes? (e.g. Honda's CB500)

Great - we need more affordable everyday bikes
I don't ride a bike to care about mpg
I prefer a bike with more power and kerb appeal
Would like to see all manufacturers with bigger capacity machines under £5k
There should be more development going into much higher mpg machines - 200mpg+ please!
