EACH year some of the wackiest two- and four-wheeled concept machines  are showcased at the renowned show, especially those bikes from the Japanese manufacturers.

Amazing concepts to launch at Tokyo Motor Show in Dec

One of the best bikes to be unveiled this year looks to be the striking RC-E road legal electric sports bike, which Honda says is: “An EV version of a super sports bike that pursues the joy of riding. A powerful and smooth ride unique to an EV model is achieved with the 250cc-class compact body.”

The quarter-litre-sized bike is apparently a full working model, utilising the same electric engine found in Honda’s hybrid Insight car. The RC-E also looks to have all-round Ohlins suspension.

Another bike on display, which will actually be a production model, is the new CRF250L. This enduro styled road capable machine will have a steel frame and share an engine with the CBR250R. The show will be held from Saturday, December 3 until Sunday, December 11, 2011.
