Cruiser or sportsbike - which do you think is the most fun to ride?

Even if you think cruisers aren't your cup of tea, think again: they are definitely worth riding at least once to see what they're really like. Here at MCM we tried out life in the slow lane this month and loved every minute of it: for the 6-page cruiser special, including our pick of the best buy used cruisers, turn to page 8 of this month's issue.

Cruiser or sportsbike - which do you think is the most fun to ride?

We've been out and about a the famous Boston Bike Night and met some real characters - go to page 16 to see the many riders we bumped into.

On the used metal front, we've taken a look at Kawasaki's big, brawny GPZ1100 on page 20. A good budget sports touring option if you like your big Kwacks and can get one for the right money, we take you through the pros and cons of buying one.

I've also recounted the amazing tale of taking seven lady riders, all of them true survivors, to the Andes in Peru and riding a 1000-mile mainly off-road route. With altitude sickness, broken limbs, lots of tumbles and the odd roasted guinea pig or two, it makes for an inspired read: turn to page 28.

Also in this month's issue, check out our guide to passing your bike's MoT first time, how MCM's Versys got on in France and don't miss motorcycle adventure traveller Sam Manicom's latest escapade in the USA on page 24.

And of course, there's loads more in the issue: don't forget to check out all the latest news, and have a look at the rest of our action-packed features and get commenting on them. Visit our letters page and add your own: one star letter each month wins a £50 biking goodies card, courtesy of Infinity Motorcycles. On the subject of free stuff, there is a money can't buy competition to win a simply massive Teng Tools Mega Master tool kit complete with tools, worth almost £6000! There's also the chance to win a set of brand new 2010 Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact tyres plus a signed copy of Sam Manicom's new book 'Tortillas to Totems'.

Also, if you're looking for a new bike or want to sell your own, take a look at a selection of our free bike classified adverts.

And don't forget, if you've got any news, events or ideas you think we might like to feature in MCM, just drop us a line here. We want to hear from you!
