If you’ve blinked a few times you’ll have missed this year, it only seems like five minutes ago since we were last looking at winter riding but it was actually 12 whole months ago, then summer arrived and now we’re winding down for Christmas!

Used Bike Guide: Editor's Ramble - Dec/Jan 2011

Ian 'Iggy' Grainger, Editor

Ah well at least it means that by the time the next issue hits the shops the nights will be getting longer again and spring will be well and truly on its way.

Talking of winter, in this issue we’ve got a bit of practical winter advice for you and some recommendations for products that might just stop you from feeling quite so cold if you’re out and about. You never know if you hint enough you might just get one of the items featured in our winter kit feature in your Christmas stocking...

Next year we’re going to be building a project bike, or at least getting a neglected bike looking good and running well, so keep your eyes out for that, it could even be yours once we’re finished with it because we’ll be selling it off to raise some money for charity.

All that’s left to say is have a great Christmas and a happy New Year and we’ll see you, or rather you’ll see us in 2011...

What do you think of the new breed of cheaper, more economical bikes? (e.g. Honda's CB500)

Great - we need more affordable everyday bikes
I don't ride a bike to care about mpg
I prefer a bike with more power and kerb appeal
Would like to see all manufacturers with bigger capacity machines under £5k
There should be more development going into much higher mpg machines - 200mpg+ please!
