Star riders at Prescott Bike Festival
By: Web Editor
The organisers of the second annual Prescott Bike Festival have just announced the first wave of star riders who will be riding the hill on Sunday, April 22.
Any bike can ‘run the hill’
Riders confirmed so far are: Scott Redding, the youngest rider to win a Grand Prix when he triumphed in the British 125GP at Donington Park in 2008 and now one of the top riders in the ultra-competitive Moto2 class, who will also officially open the event. Alongside Scott are Redline Racing with Tarran McKenzie and his three time British Superbike dad Niall McKenzie; John Reynolds, Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes Ambassador and multiple British Superbike Champion, Taylor McKenzie, a competitor in the MotoGP 125cc World Championship, Martin Robbins, British Hill Climb champion, Chris Hodgson, twice British Supermoto champion plus the AP Kawasaki BSB team run by Paul Russo and with riders Freddie Russo, Anthony Haywood and Leon Hunt.
New for this year, the festival will feature a new Race Bikes Thru’ the Ages display.
Here, festival goers will not only be able to get up close with rare exotica, early pioneering machinery, modern MotoGP bikes and more but they will see many of them in action, ridden by race riders. Of particular note is support from competitors in the Lansdowne Classic Series, who will display some of the most prestigious race bikes of the 1950s and 60s. The 2012 Festival also promises a children’s demo area, a new Orchard Food and Bar Village, a Run the Hill Fancy Dress competition and much more.
A new updated website – www.prescottbikefestival.co.uk – has just been launched to provide more details of what will be in store and give riders the opportunity to purchase advance tickets and secure their place to Run the Hill. There are just 200 places available to Run the Hill, so it’s best to book early!
All proceeds from the day will go to the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and Severn Freewheelers.
