Suzuki’s new parallel twin 250
By: Web Editor
THE new Suzuki Inazuma (which means lightning in Japanese), has a liquid-cooled, fuel injected, SOHC 248cc six-speed motor designed for economical low to midrange performance, ideal for city traffic.
Aimed primarily at new riders and those returning to motorcycling, the compact Inazuma takes its design cues from the B-King and GSR, and as Suzuki says: “...there is a significant increase in demand for more cost effective, smaller capacity machines, so when we had the opportunity to introduce the Inazuma to the UK it was an easy decision.”
The Inazuma comes with all-round disc brakes and alloy cast wheels, plus Suzuki has tried to keep overall weight down by using aluminium chassis parts such as foot pegs, grab rail and rear brake pedal.
The bike also comes with a decent instrument panel that includes a gear indicator, service reminder and three-mode rpm indicator to prompt gear changes, with an ‘economy mode’ gear change for ‘optimal fuel consumption’.
No price announced as yet, but the Inazuma should be available later on in 2012 with an expected price similar to Honda’s CBR250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250.

A sensible sized twin motorcycle for the commuter market. Hopefully a screen, fairing and rack and top box will be in the extras catalogue.Hopefully when thy talk economy that means 80mpg + at 70mph. Can't see a centre stand though but at least the exhaust clears the rear axle for ease of rear wheel removal.
