The rise of the street wise 750s...
By: Web Editor
The sports naked 750 market is doing well - and why not, when they're fun to ride and far easier on your back and wallet than a sportsbike - check out our test of Suzuki's new-this-year GSR750 and Kawasaki's updated Z750R on page 10.
We also went to the States to test the revamped Honda Gold Wing on page 14 - is it still king of the luxury tourers?
Castle Combe also played host to an inspiring Bike Experience day aimed at getting injured bikers back on two wheels - simply amazing, starting on page 18.
Equally jawdropping is the famous Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum stuffed full of pretty much every type of bike from the dawn of motorcycling - check this wonderful place out on page 20.
What about driving a Ural sidecar outfit 6000 miles across America? Husband and wife team Lois and Austin did just that on page 24.
Talking about adventure, we also tried out the BMW Off-road Skills school at the edge of the Breacon Beacons in South Wales, perfect to learn how to ride on the dirty stuff - read all about it on page 30.
On the tech watch front, we've got the latest in ABS on bikes developments plus BMW's bold new technological plans, including semi-active suspension - go to pages 20 and 24 to find out more.
Think advanced training isn't for you? MCM editor Mel decides to do a Skill for Life course with the IAM - see how she got on, all on page 16.
Plus we've got nine new products, an interview with BSB star Tommy Hill and all the best events happening this month.
We've also got a new Really Useful Section, packed full of everything you need to know when buying a used bike, starting on page 37. Used bikes include a gaggle of brilliant 125s - Honda's CBF and CBR plus the Yamaha YZF-R.
And of course, there's loads more in the issue: don't forget to check out all the latest news, and have a look at the rest of our action-packed features and get commenting on them. Visit our letters page and add your own: one star letter each month wins a V2MAL Essentials Touring Pack worth over £40. On the subject of free stuff, there is a fantastic competition for five lucky readers to win a complete set of mid-layer windproof ColdKillers clothing on page 36, plus a chance to bag a pair of new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs on page 33, as well as tickets to the upcoming Classic Mechanics Stafford Show featuring Wayne Rainey as guest of honour. Also, if you're looking for a new bike or want to sell your own, take a look at a selection of our free bike classified adverts.
And don't forget, if you've got any news, events or ideas you think we might like to feature in MCM, just drop us a line here. We want to hear from you!
