Think bike
By: Web Editor
Dear MCM,
I have just come back from the USA after a long holiday and while over in the States, it was reported on the news about the recent bikers’ ride through Wootton Bassett, which I think was a fantastic show of support for our troops.
As a biker, I am only too aware of all the bad press we get, and non-bikers seem to forget that we riders are just normal everyday people like themselves: we are fathers, sons, brothers etc, not the mindless speed freaks that cause havoc on the British roads and wake all that sleep in the peaceful historic villages. Don’t misunderstand me: we are not all angels (well, at least until that car pulls out without seeing us), but we are no different to any other road user and certainly no different in our thought and feelings for matters important to one’s self-beliefs or the nation.
I think people need to be reminded of this Wootton Bassett ride over and over again: who knows, the general public and those that do not ride a bike just might start to ‘Think Bike’.
