Honda's CBR600F is the original middleweight favourite, so how does the new Hornet-derived model measure up? We tested a 2004 bike against its brand new brother - check out what we thought on page 10.

Which CBR600F should you buy?
It's national Ride to Work Day on 20 June this year, so here at MCM we thought we'd conduct a little experiment with lots of different bikes and one car. In part two of our test, it's the often overlooked but comfy, cheap, economical and fun to ride BMW F800ST that is is the bike to beat - read all about it on page 18.

Other new bikes this issue include the long-awaited Aprilia RS4 125 - that's right, the legendary teen machine has gone four-stroke and looks just like a mini RSV4 - have a look on page 24. Ducati have also launched their latest air-cooled two-valve 1100 Monster Evo, which now puts out 100bhp, on page 16. There's also the lean, clean and beautifully mean Harley Blackline which we rode in California (where else?) on page 28.

How about improving your bike handling skills for just a fiver and have great fun into the bargain? Moto Gymkhana is a Japanese riding agility craze currently sweeping Britain - go to page 20 to see what it's all about.

Always fancied wearing jeans while out riding in the summer but too worried to try it? Read all about how protective motorcycling jeans are made and how they withstand crashes on page 22.

Plus we've got nine new products, three honest reviews on the kit and gear we've been using for the last few months, fantastic pictures from road bikes currently causing an upset in the National Hill Climb paddock and an interview with BSB young gun Alex Lowes from the last round at Thruxton.

We've also got a new Really Useful Section, packed full of everything you need to know when buying a used bike, starting on page 43.

And of course, there's loads more in the issue: don't forget to check out all the latest news, and have a look at the rest of our action-packed features and get commenting on them. Visit our letters page and add your own: one star letter each month wins a V2MAL Essentials Touring Pack worth over £40. On the subject of free stuff, there is a fantastic competition for a lucky reader to win almost £6000 worth of Teng Tools on page 34, and a pair of new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs on page 40. Also, if you're looking for a new bike or want to sell your own, take a look at a selection of our free bike classified adverts.

And don't forget, if you've got any news, events or ideas you think we might like to feature in MCM, just drop us a line here. We want to hear from you!
